How To Find Good Cavachon Breeders

By Andrew Wallace

Adopting an adult dog or a pup from a shelter and even rescue groups are advisable before buying one. But, if you want to have a purebred pup, then you should consider finding a reliable breeder who knows everything he does. Unlike fake breeders and pet stores, credible breeders opt to breed only healthy dogs with a good personality.

This way, you have higher chances of getting a pet that suits your family. Aside from that, they also know how to raise the puppies in a certain way that would prepare them for life as a new addition to every family. Actually, there are so many breeders who are unaware and unscrupulous. Thus, take more time and be choosy about finding the right one, especially when looking for good Cavachon breeders.

Always remember that anyone who breeds adult dogs will do various things. He or she will be performing genetic and health tests prior to the breeding. Of course, he will not breed the ones that are known to have heritable problems or those that are aggressive. It is an extra point if he or she supports crossing troubled breeds to reduce heritable disorders.

In addition to that, a good breeder also understands the history and health of each pup. Basically, it is going to be a tough job to develop a certain expertise about various breeds. Thus, a breeder who specializes in one breed is much better than those who breed more than two dogs at a time.

It has been said that meeting the parents of the pup you want to get is essential. But sometimes it is no longer necessary, particularly when dealing with a reliable breeder. However, if you have been warned or heard bad things about the parents, it would be best to look for other options. Temperament and characteristics are also heritable. And although aggressive parents can produce nice pups, it would still best to find a friendly pet.

A reliable source of information is through word of mouth. But it does not mean your friend who has a nice pup unless said friend has excellent expertise. Rather, speak with people who join in a formal herding competition, agility, obedience, and the like.

If you want, you can also ask your veterinarian, visit local dog shows or call several breeding clubs to get referrals and recommendations. Visit and speak with many breeders as you can. That way, you can get a sense of how dedicated and passionate they are for breeding. You should ask questions regarding the health and condition of the pups before making a final decision.

Keep your eyes wide open when you are visiting each breeder. The first thing to look for a credible breeder is someone who raises dogs inside their house. Puppies who will be raised as a family dog should be placed inside with the family members, not in a basement, a garage, or in a backyard.

Aside from that, you will notice that dogs that are properly taken cared of seem comfortable with humans and other animals. Actually, this is a sign that they have been cared of and socialized. Furthermore, a reliable breeder can also be motivated by his or her love for the breed and not by making more income. If one buys a pup who is not intended for breeding, then both parties should sign an agreement to avoid dog overpopulation.
